ATP is the energy currency of the human body and is required at high concentrations in the cell at all times for normal functions.
Synthesis of proteins, fats and carbohydrates necessary for cellular integrity, normal activity and functions is dependent on ATP availability which supplies the energy for their synthesis and actions (1).
Magnesium and malic acid are two substances that play a crucial role in ATP synthesis and utilization. The B-vitamins riboflavin, niacinamide and pyridoxine (vitamin B-6) in adequate amounts are also required for the transfer of energy from food to ATP (2).
Super Malic® Plus contains malic acid, magnesium and the B-vitamins riboflavin, niacinamide and pyridoxine (vitamin B-6). Studies done with malic acid and magnesium without the B-vitamins showed improvement of fibromyalgia symptoms (2,3). However, the B-vitamins are added because of current knowledge on their importance in ATP formation.
Super Malic® Plus should be used as part of a total dietary program emphasizing magnesium for best results.
